Priced per loaded mile
You pay for the distance your goods actually travel — collection to delivery. Getting the vehicle to you is ours to cover, not yours.
100 miles minimum
Every job up to 100 miles is charged at the vehicle's minimum. Beyond that you pay the per-mile rate for the miles you use.
Rates exclude VAT
Quoted the way haulage rates are quoted, so you can compare them against anyone else's. VAT at 20% is added on the invoice.
What will my job cost?
Two postcodes and a vehicle. We work out the road distance and apply the card — the same numbers published below. What comes back is an estimate to plan against, not a fixed price.
Your job gets its own price
The card is where we start, not where we finish. Tell us the route and what you are moving, and a person prices it for your job — the load, access at both ends, timing and waiting. Regular work and recurring routes are quoted below the card. That price is your quote, and it is the one we stand behind.

Priced on application: Small Car and Temperature-Controlled Truck. A small car carries too little to sit on a tariff built around 100 chargeable miles, and a refrigerated truck's price depends on the chassis and the temperature range. Both are quoted by a person.
What the rate covers
- Clean Air Zone, ULEZ and LEZ charges — our fleet is Euro 6 / Euro VI compliant, so there is nothing to pass on.
- Fuel. There is no separate fuel surcharge on the card.
- Goods in transit and public liability cover.
- Collection any time, including outside business hours.
Charged separately
- VAT at 20%.
- Waiting time beyond the free period.
- Tolls, the London Congestion Charge and Dartford Crossing.
- Ferry crossings, and specialist handling such as a Moffett or a second person.

How the card is applied
- Rates exclude VAT and are for a dedicated vehicle: your consignment travels direct, with no hub stops or shared loads.
- Waiting time is charged once 30 minutes have passed at a van's collection or delivery point, or one hour for a lorry.
- Waiting time covers delays at either end, including hand-balling that runs beyond those periods.
- Regular deliveries and recurring routes are priced below the card — talk to us about a contract rate.
- Short local runs are rarely best served by a 100-mile minimum. Call us and we will price the job properly.

How much does a same-day courier cost?
It depends on the vehicle and the distance. A small van is £1.40 per mile with a minimum charge of £140 for journeys up to 100 miles, and rates run up to a 44-tonne articulated lorry. All rates exclude VAT. The full card is on this page, and a person confirms the exact price before anything is booked.
Why is a short local job charged at the 100-mile minimum?
The card is built for dedicated work, where a vehicle and driver are committed to your job alone for the whole run. That has a floor regardless of distance. Short local runs are often better priced outside the card — call us and we will price the job properly rather than apply the minimum.
Surcharges & road charges

Do you charge extra for the London Congestion Charge or ULEZ?
We do not pass on Clean Air Zone, ULEZ or LEZ charges — our vans meet Euro 6 and our HGVs Euro VI, so we enter every UK zone without a daily charge. The London Congestion Charge, tolls and the Dartford Crossing are separate road charges and are added where a route incurs them.
Is there a fuel surcharge?
No. Fuel is in the rate. If fuel costs move enough to change the card, the card changes and the effective date on this page changes with it.

Can I get a better rate for regular work?
Yes. Recurring routes and regular collections are priced below the published card. Tell us the route and the frequency and we will quote a contract rate.

No. The rate card is our published tariff, and the calculator turns it into a guide price for your route — an estimate to plan against, not a fixed price. A person prices every job, checking access, timing, waiting and the load, and confirms what you will actually pay before you commit.
